Julius Evola’s Concept of the Will

In various writings Evola denounced fatalism. For example in his book The Hermetic Tradition where he discusses prophetic abilities brought about by alchemical initiation. John J. Reilly (1) in his review of Evola’s book writes: “The immortals are, of course, freed from time; they can see past and future as easily as the present. However, we should not imagine that they simply acquiesce to the flow of history that proceeds from the astrological gods or the fates. Rather, the will of the initiates becomes one with the transcendent. They know the future, because they will it. Since they are immortal, their will never ceases to operate; it is reality itself.”
